Hello — I’m Jackie.
Over the years a lot of people in the area have asked if I’d look in on the house while they were away. There was clearly a real need for it — so here we are.
North Berwick and the villages around it have changed a lot. So many lovely homes sit empty for stretches of the year while their owners are at their main place, abroad or working away. A bit of quiet, reliable attention makes all the difference — and a familiar local face means you don’t have to worry about who’s holding your keys.
As an office manager within a busy local garage the importance of keeping your battery charged is something we experience with a lot of our customers. In doing so this will avoid you having to have your breakdown service come out to you or in some cases require a new battery if the cells drop below holding a charge.
Prior to working in the garage since 2017 I was a support worker trusted with ensuring clients’ homes were safe, secured and any issues flagged immediately with their families or housing providers. Your home will be treated with the utmost respect.
The car side of things is well covered too. A fortnightly drive isn’t just to charge the battery — it’s a chance to make sure everything still feels right. And if your car needs an MOT, a service, or even just a levels and tyre check after a long trip, I can arrange a booking with a local garage on your behalf (usually around four weeks notice).
I’m not running a big company. It’s just me, doing it properly, for people I already know — and for friends of friends who’d like the same.
